3D Christmas Card
Thursday, November 26, 2015

Color, cut, and assemble. Includes an assortment of figures to decorate your cards in a variety of styles.

Print pages 2, 3, and 4 on card stock. Then follow the instructions to make your card. The card is designed to fit in a postcard-size envelope. See page 6 for additional ideas.

How to assemble your Christmas card

  1. Cut the frame of your card along the thick line. Then fold along the dotted lines as shown in the picture here. Next cut the two thick lines, which are for inserting the long strip of paper as shown in the illustration above.
  2. Color and cut out the long strip of paper with the Nativity scene. Cut the two thick lines, and then bow slightly to form an arc.
  • Color the background of the card, and color and cut out the various figures to place around the card to create the scene.
  • You can use colored glitter or small shining stars to decorate your card.
  • You can also use the template on the next page to create your own scene and draw your own figures. You might like to use colored paper or other materials to decorate your card.

When cutting out the figures, you don’t have to cut right on the black lines. Simply cut a few millimeters from the figure.

To fit your card into an envelope, first remove the strip of paper with the Nativity scene. Then fold the tabs inside and insert your card, the strip, and the angel into an envelope.

Templates

You can use these to create your own Christmas card design or make other cards using the idea presented on the previous pages.

You can also make a simpler card by cutting a piece of paper to size for your envelope, and decorating it with figures from this project.
