Learning something new is not always easy. Maybe you’re learning to tie your shoes, ride a bicycle, or how to draw. When something is difficult for you, keep trying, and don’t give up! If it seems too hard at first, don’t be sad or discouraged. Sometimes you simply must keep trying until you get it right.
Have you ever watched a newborn horse learn to stand? When the newborn foal first tries to stand up, his legs are wobbly and look like they won’t be able to hold him upright. The mother horse will nudge and encourage the foal to stand, but the little foal must learn to do it all on his own. The foal may fall, but eventually he is able to stand up on his little legs. He’s a little unsteady at first, but within a day, he’ll be able to walk and even run!
Being willing to persevere—to keep trying even when something is difficult—is important. Learning is part of growing up; it’s what helps you develop into the person you will become.
So, if you’re struggling to learn something new, just keep trying. If you persevere, you will succeed in the end. And don’t forget to ask Me to help you. I will always be there to lend you a hand.
“I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13 ICB).
