Ask the children what the key points were that Scrooge learned.

  • Happiness is found in building warm and caring relationships with others.
  • There is greater joy to be had in sharing what one has with others, and it is not found in only having and holding on to an abundance of things.

WatchGod’s Special Gift: The Story of the First Christmas!” starting at 1:13 minutes and finishing at 8:16 minutes. (From 8:32 minutes through 11:08 minutes is an interesting class on the meanings of the names associated with Jesus.)

Talk about the instances of giving found in the Christmas story:

  • Mary and Joseph were willing for Mary to give birth to Jesus and to take good care of Him.
  • Joseph and Mary were given a place to stay in a stable.
  • The angels gave praise to God.
  • The shepherds gave by telling others the wonderful news about the Savior, Christ the Lord, being born.
  • The Wise Men gave the gifts of frankincense, gold, and myrrh.
  • Father God gave His Son, Jesus, to the world.
