Christmas is the special time of year when we celebrate Jesus’ birth. The decorations, the carols, the special events, the time with family and friends—all of it makes me glad. Every Christmas I try to think of something special that I can give to others.
I have decided on three things that I want to give this Christmas. Maybe you’d like to try it too, and together we can make Christmas extra special for others.
Here are my ideas:
I can give kindness.
By being kind I am thinking about another person’s feelings. I can then help that person with something that would make him or her happy. I can show concern for other people and find ways to make things easier and better for them.
There are so many ways I can make others happy. Kindness makes the world a better place!
I can give my time.
Christmas is a busy time, and with so much happening, spending time helping others is something special I can do. Whether it’s giving my mom or dad a helping hand, spending a little extra time with my brother or sister, or giving my time to help others in need, time spent with others can brighten their day.
I can give friendship.
I can make new friends and strengthen the friendships I already have. Making a new friend can sometimes seem like a big deal, but being friendly and welcoming are the first steps you can take to make a new friend. Friendship is a wonderful gift that I can give someone else.
What are some other things you could give this Christmas season? Happy Christmas giving!
