Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 20- to 30-minute lesson plan that highlights the lesson objective: “Learn of the need to pray for others, as well as prayer for oneself; learn that to pray is the greatest action one can take to bring about good results.” (Christian Life and Faith: A Personal Connection with Jesus: Prayer-1g)

Pray the first prayer of “Pray a Way: Caring for Others,” then read 1 Timothy 2:1.

Read The Ripple Effect.” If you remember a time when you witnessed the “ripple effect” of a prayer, share it with your children.

Read Follow Through—Pray

Create a “Prayer Wheel,” using the blank wheel to add pictures of people you’d like to remember to pray for every day; for example, your parents, your brother or sister, your grandparents, your teacher.

Read Prayer Lights the Fuse.”

Explore what the ripple effect might be of one of the prayers you prayed for another today. A fun activity could be made of this. You remind the children of what the prayer was for. Then one of the children explains the answer to that prayer. Another person then explores a potential ripple effect of the answer to that prayer. Take turns talking about further potential ripple effects that can result down the line due to that prayer.
