Note to parent or teacher: This 30-minute lesson plan highlights the following lesson objective: “Understand the importance of spending quality time with Jesus in order to maintain a strong connection with Him; the benefits of doing so, and the negative effect of not doing so; study the fruit of the Spirit: Peace.” (Christian Life and Faith: A Personal Connection with Jesus: Quality Time with Jesus-2a; Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: Fruits of the Spirit, The-2f)

ReadPower-Up Devotional #6: Spirit Fruit: Peace.”

Talk about times when it might be easy to feel worried, afraid, or the opposite of peaceful.

Read page 7 and 8 of the above article, and discuss the reasons why Jesus can give us the feelings of peace when we are feeling unsettled. Page 8 of the same article talks about how to experience this peace: the more of God’s promises we read, study, and commit to heart, the more peaceful we will become. Do the action point on page 9.

Listen to the song “Here.”

Listen to “Alone with Jesus.” Talk about how spending time with Jesus can help us find peace. If appropriate, relate a time in your life when you experienced this.

Read the verses in “Crazily Cool Card Set: The Comfort of God.” Print out your children’s favorite verse from this set, for them to place somewhere they like and commit that verse to memory. The next time your children are faced with something new, or something that causes them to feel afraid, remind them of the verse that they have memorized.

ReadA Thought for the Day: No Fear.” End with a prayer of thanks for God’s protection.
