Here is a 15-minute lesson plan on building our lives on the power of belief and faith that highlights the following lesson objective: “Understand that faith isn’t based on feelings; it’s a manifestation of confidence in God’s promises and His ability to answer, even when circumstances seem to contradict His promises; learn that God honors faith with answers, love, and care.” (Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: Faith-2h)
Sing or learn “If Thou Canst Believe.”
Look up and read Matthew 8:5–10
Discuss what it was about the centurion’s faith that impressed Jesus.
Look up Matthew 9:27–30. Talk about how before performing the healing miracle, Jesus asked those who needed healing if they believed He could heal them. Why did He ask this first?
Look up Matthew 14:22–31. Discuss what caused Peter to sink.
Look up Matthew 13:54–58. Discuss why Jesus was unable to do miracles when He was visiting the place where the rest of His family lived.
Read “Nothing Is Impossible for God.”
Memorize or review these two Bible verses.
Talk about various answers to prayers your family has experienced personally, or miracles that you’ve seen happen. Thank Jesus for those things.
