Level 1 Lesson Plan: Who Is God? Part 2
Wednesday, August 17, 2011

Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 30- to 40-minute lesson plan that further highlights the lesson objective: “Learn who God is, based on biblical accounts and verses that describe His nature; learn attributes of God.” (Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: God-1a)

ReadWhere Is God?

Activity for those who enjoy drawing: Draw a picture of God sitting amongst the stars and planets, and His feet resting on the planet earth. Write out the verse, “Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool” (Isaiah 66:1 KJV).

Read Psalm 139:7–10.

Ask the children if they can think of something they might do that could distance them from God, and talk about how they could draw closer to God after being distanced from Him. Encourage the children to explore a wide variety of times and places to discover if God would be there too. Then draw the conclusion to this by discussing how comforting it is to know that God’s presence and help can be found no matter where they are.

ReadNamba’s Rock.”

Activity: If you can, go somewhere together where each can sit quietly and talk with God like Namba did. Alternatively, brainstorm scenes that your child could think about while lying in his or her bed at night and talking to God before going to sleep.
