Here is a lesson plan that can be covered in 30 to 45 minutes, relating to the lesson objectives: “Be able to list Jesus’ twelve disciples who followed Him while He was on earth, and the role that they played in helping Jesus in His mission,” and “learn of some of the lives of the great men and women of the Bible.” (Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: Discipleship-1b; and Christian Life and Faith: Witnessing and Missionary Training: Great Men and Women of God-1a
Read “The Acts of the Apostles: Sleeping in Class.”
Read “The Acts of the Apostles: I Have Kept the Faith.”
Listen to the audio “New Testament.”
Do you know which books in the New Testament were written by Paul? (Answer: Romans, 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. Also, he might have written the book of Hebrews. Paul’s writings are often referred to as “letters,” because these are recordings of letters he sent to individuals and groups of Christians he was teaching.)
Memorize or review a verse from “Crazily Cool Cards Set: Sharing God’s Love.” Talk about how Paul obeyed Jesus’ request in Matthew 28:19–20. (For example, Paul traveled to various cities and countries to teach people about Jesus. He taught not only in person but also through his writings.)
Do you know where Paul received the power to be such a faithful witness and teacher about Jesus? (You can find the answer in “The Gift of the Holy Spirit.” See here for a further study on the Holy Spirit.)
