Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 20- to 30-minute lesson plan that highlights the lesson objective: “Learn of God’s unconditional love for each person; learn that Jesus, God’s Son, gave His life and then God raised Him back to life from the dead, so that one can be saved from one’s sins and receive the gift of eternal life in heaven through accepting the gift of salvation.” (Christian Life and Faith: Biblical and Christian Foundation: Salvation-1a)
Listen to “Jesus Really Loves You.”
Read “John 3:16 Is for You.”
Memorize John 3:16. To help in memorizing this Bible verse, your children might enjoy making a poster for their wall. You can follow the example on the last page of “John 3:16 Is for You,” including the child’s name on the poster as well.
Read “Bright Pebbles: Knock, Knock.”
Listen to “Behold.” (7)
View this classic picture, based on Revelation 3:20. Point out to the children how there is no doorknob on the outside of this door, because it’s up to the person inside to open the door of their heart to let Jesus in.
Read “God’s Great Love for Us.”
Lead the children in prayer to ask Jesus into their hearts, if they haven’t already done so. And for those who have already received Jesus, lead them in a prayer of thankfulness and praise to Jesus for the gift of salvation He gave them. To help encourage the children in this prayer of thankfulness, review page 8 of “God’s Great Love for Us.”
Color the “Coloring Page: God’s Great Love for Us.”
