Children’s Books and Classics Online
Saturday, July 24, 2010

In “Book Bonanza: Going Exploring” we encourage youngsters to read a book or article featuring a culture they’re interested in learning about. If you don’t have a library nearby, or books readily available, here are a few sites where you can find online books and classics for children. We are not endorsing all that is available on these sites, but we hope you will find these links useful.

Project Gutenberg: The “Children’s Bookshelf” on Project Gutenberg has an assortment of classic book series, picture books, poetry, biographies, and much more.

Biblomania: Classics, poems, children's books; includes summary of books and biography of authors. Also has study guides/notes that can be helpful for writing assignments or book reports.

International Children’s Digital Library: Multiple language books; searchable by age groups, titles, authors, languages, and other criteria.

Children’s Books Online: Books are categorized by beginner/advanced readers; many books are available in multiple languages or in audio format.

Many Books: Extensive book categories, large selection for young readers, can choose languages, available to read online or downloadable in several different formats.
