0–5 Lesson Plan: If You Know the Right Thing to Do…
Monday, February 3, 2014

Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 20-minute 0–5 lesson plan on obedience.

ReadThe Right Thing to Do,” and discuss with the children the “Action” on the last page.

ViewThe Parables of Jesus: The Two Builders.

ReadYelli’s Important Lesson.”

ReadPup, Jet, and the Great Big Forest.”

Discuss the possible consequences that could have happened to the characters in the above two stories due to not doing what they knew they should do.

Touch on basic home rules that you are presently working on with your children. Explain why they are important and ask them to identify the possible consequences of not following the guidelines you have set in place.

Read and explain the verses on “Crazily Cool Card Set: Obedience.” The children can choose a verse they would like to memorize, cut out, and color.

Highlight how everyone forgets at some point what it is we are supposed to do, and so when that happens we appreciate when others—our parents, siblings, friends—remind us of safety and home rules.
