Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 0–5 lesson plan on God’s beautiful creation.
Read the story of creation from a children’s Bible, draw it out on a whiteboard, do a flannelgraph, or tell the story using LEGO or any other toy pieces you may have around. Let your child help you with the story telling. You can also read the creation story here, on page 2: “Old Testament: In the Beginning.” (Here is a coloring page for the story.)
Read the verse, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork” (Psalm 19:1 ESV). Discuss what this verse means.
Read “Creation + You and Me.” Discuss what is meant by the verse Psalm 19:1.
Read “My Little Talks with Jesus: My beautiful creation.” If you have a nice view, sit outside as you read this article. Or on your next walk to a park, thank Jesus for anything you see that you are thankful for.
Read “All Things Bright and Beautiful.” If you like, memorize the first stanza. Add motions to the poem to help your child remember it.
