Note to parent or teacher: Here is a 20-minute 0–5 lesson plan that focuses on the benefits of spending time with Jesus each day through reading God’s Word, talking with Jesus, and praising Him.

Read “Spend Time with Me—It Makes Me Happy.”

Talk about some of the benefits we get from spending time with Jesus. Possible answers could be: it helps us draw closer to Jesus, we get to know Jesus better, our faith is strengthened, etc.

Read “Jesus, Friend of Little Children.”

Watch “Forever Friend.”

Ask the children about some of the things that Jesus taught His disciples and those who came to listen to His teachings. Then ask if there are ways we can learn from Jesus by spending time with Him (by reading God’s Word, talking to Him, etc.) even though we cannot see Him face to face.

Memorize the verse “I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20).

Pick and color a picture from “Coloring Pages: Spend Time with Me—It Makes Me Happy” while listening to the song “Me and You.”
