Note to parent or teacher: Here’s a 20- to 30-minute class plan on being quick to obey.
Read “The Right Thing to Do.” Discuss the question on the last page of this article.
Watch “Song: Do it Now.”
Read “Shawnie O’Gray and the Whale.” Your child can also do the activity “Dot to Dot: Shawnie O’Gray and the Whale.”
Talk about the times when it may be difficult to obey right away. Think of some things that could happen when you are not quick to obey (e.g., accidents, missing out on time spent doing other things, not building the habit of obedience, etc.).
Watch “Mama, I Remembered.”
Read “Fleety, the Little Mouse.” Ask your child what actions Fleety took that made his parents happy. (Answer: obedience)
Read “Happy Actions.” Do the action on the last page of this article.
Memorize “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.” (Colossians 3:20 NIV)
