Do you know or can you guess which of the "Old Testament greats" made the following statements of faith? (All verses are taken from the KJV.)
1. “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
2. “Let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.”
3. “How long halt ye between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him.”
4. “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
5. “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?”
6. “Let us go up at once, and possess [the Promised Land]; for we are well able to overcome it.”
7. “Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us. … But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
8. “Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. … For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion.”
9. “I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.”
10. “Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.”
