During Jesus’ life on earth, along with teaching people about God and His ways, He also healed many people from a variety of illnesses.
On one such occasion, a man by the name of Jairus, who was a ruler of the synagogue, asked Jesus to come to his house and heal his twelve-year-old daughter who was dying. Jesus and some of His disciples went with Jairus to his house, but before they got there, men came to tell Jairus that his daughter had died and there was no further reason for Jesus to go to his house. Jairus was heartbroken, but Jesus told him, “Do not be afraid; only believe” (Mark 5:36 NKJV).
When they arrived at Jairus’ home, people were crying. Jesus asked them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping” (Mark 5:39 NKJV). Some of the people laughed at Him, but Jesus, with the girl’s parents and some of His disciples, went to the room where the girl was. Jesus said to the girl, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!” (Mark 5:41 NKJV), and immediately she got up and started walking. Everyone was amazed and very happy!
Do you need healing? Jesus can heal you and your friends and loved ones who are sick. Remember Jesus’ words: “Do not be afraid; only believe” (Mark 5:36 NKJV).
