A Prayer of Gratitude: Teachers

“Look to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4, paraphrased).

“Show them the highest respect and love because of the work they do” (1 Thessalonians 5:13 ERV).

List your teachers. Remember to include all your teachers—schoolteachers, Sunday school teachers, coaches, camp instructors, and those overseeing and teaching you skills and hobbies.

Manifest your gratitude:

Thank them verbally and with thank-you notes for their diligent work of teaching you.
Show respect by listening to and following their instructions.
When you don’t understand an instruction, ask politely for help.
Don’t argue or talk back.

Prayer for gratitude:

Dear God, thank You for those who teach me. I know they have skills I need to learn, and I appreciate how they use their time and energies to help me learn these skills and subjects. Help me to do my best to study and learn from them, and to be a grateful student so that they enjoy teaching me.

Prayer of gratitude:

Heavenly Father, thank You for ____ (specific teacher). They work hard to teach me and are helping me to learn so much about ____ (name the subject). Please give them insight into the way they are helping to make this world a better place through teaching us. (If you like, you can add a personal line to your prayer.)
