A Prayer of Gratitude: Government Workers and Police

“Look to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4, paraphrased).

“He is God’s servant for your good” (Romans 13:4 ESV).

Consider the way you feel safe in your home, at school, or out and about, realizing that the government workers and police play an important part in keeping society running smoothly and safely.

Manifest your gratitude:

Obey the laws and rules put forth by officials.
If you meet a government official, government clerk, or a police officer, smile and be pleasant so they can see you are thankful for their work.

Prayer for gratitude: Heavenly Father, please help me remember that these men and women work hard to help society run smoothly. If I meet a government worker or police officer, help me remember how they work hard in ways that help society work together smoothly.

Prayer of gratitude: Dear Father, thank You for the people who do these jobs to keep society running efficiently. Whether it’s a clerk at the front desk where my parent goes for legal papers, or a person who helps organize events in our city, or police who work hard to keep us safe, please encourage them in their work and keep them safe.
