Based on Mark 14:12–17; John 14:16–17; John 15:4–15; and Matthew 26:36.

At the time of the Passover,1 Jesus and His disciples gathered in a room for the Passover feast, Jesus’ last supper on earth. After the meal, Jesus taught His disciples about the coming of the Holy Spirit, whom He referred to as the Helper, the Comforter, and the Spirit of truth.

Jesus then explained how to bear good fruit (results) for God’s kingdom. “My commandment is that you love each other as I have loved you,” Jesus told His disciples. “There is no greater love than that a man gives his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. I’ve called you friends because I have told you everything I heard from My Father.”2

Afterwards, Jesus and the disciples went to the Mount of Olives, to a garden called Gethsemane.
